Stevie turns 1!
We all got together to celebrate Stevie's first birthday1 it was a blast and Ellie had so much fun running all over the yard and playing with wiener dogs and bubbles and meeting baby chicks and yelling "dog" at the cows. Oh and the cake was good too...
She was a little shocked
There wasn't enough room for Ben and some of his buddies on the bus so they just ran over to us. We were looking for him to get off the bus and then all of a sudden i turned around and he was running towards me. We hugged each other really hard and kissed while I was holding Ellie and she just stared at us like what is going on? She was pretty freaked out. She did not want to go to him and was just sobbing. It was pretty sad. He had to work pretty hard the nest few hours to win her attention. I think Ben was pretty heartbroken
He's home!
Well most of you know by now that Ben is home (sorry it has taken me so long to post this). I just have not wanted to sit down at the computer for hours while he's been home. He actually just left for work this morning and Ellie is still sleeping. I even just mopped the floors. This is shaping up to be a very successful day thus far:)

Ellie's weekend with mommy away
She did great! I knew she was in good hands. Nicki and Jess had a little time to learn the ins and outs and ups and downs to Ellie's day so I was able to leave with no explaining. I didn't worry about her once. In fact I started to miss her. Which is a feeling that I'm not too familiar with with her. I never get a chance to miss her or really appreciate her. It was good for all involved. I look forward to more of these moments. I also would think of her on my runs and miss her and it would make me run faster to get home. These were good feelings for me to experience. They are good for Ellie too.
Mom's getaway!
For the weekend while Nicki and Jess were here Heather and I went to St. Augustine, FL (the oldest city in America). We spent the weekend there where we shared a few too many drinks one night. Had a dance party in our hotel room and suffered from whiplash for the rest of the weekend. We became the toughest food critics and coffee connoisseurs Florida has ever seen. We shared our hearts and a carriage ride around the city and ended our weekend with a walk on the beach.
Grandma is here!
Ben's mom, Nicki came out for a whole three weeks! It was so great to have her here to play with Ellie and take care of her and teach her and most important...GIVE ME A BREAK! I was able to get out and run 5 miles a day now. Running without the stroller is amazing. I do miss that time with Ellie though (she gives me high 5's while I run). I was also able to get away for a weekend with my friend Heather. Her husband has just left before their anniversary, her birthday and Valentines Day all in one week. So we needed to get away. All in all after Nicki and Jessica both got the stomach flu within a week of being here we had a great time growing together and fellow shipping and doing little projects around the house...thanks ladies. I am so proud and honored to call you family of mine.
